Aleyna Zülal Cevher
In my work, I focus on the human being—both the human body and the subconscious. I explore the effects of a digitized and industrialized new nature on human life, defining the contrast between the natural and the artificial as a “body,” and examining the interactions between the two. Delving deeper into these issues, I reflect human-centered themes not only through painting but also through the use of various materials. In a world where the concept of uniqueness is constantly questioned, I address the homogenization, multiplication, and transformation of things into mass-produced objects. I use my self-portraits to explore the loss of individuality in people, and I incorporate ordinary, everyday objects into works of art—objects typically labeled as “unique”—to reassign uniqueness through the lens of art itself.
